We are the German-Canadian Congress, a non-sectarian organization, established to cultivate and promote the language, culture and customs of German-Canadians, within the scope of Canadian Multiculturalism.
Aims and Objectives of the Congress
- A) To cultivate and promote the German language and the culture and customs of German-Canadians within the scope of Canadian Multiculturalism. The term German-Canadian, as it is used throughout this by-law, shall be defined as follows: A resident of Canada whose ancestry originates in that part of Europe which had and/or continues to have German as its common language.
- B) To foster cooperation among German-Canadians and to promote a better understanding of their common cultural heritage.
- C) To disseminate information to all Canadians relating to the many positive contributions by German-Canadians to Canadian Society.
- D) To promote and encourage the participation and contribution of German-Canadians in public affairs and civic life.
- E) To disseminate information and news to the benefit of the German-Canadian community.
- F) To establish a fund for charitable purposes, for the benefit of the aims of multiculturalism and the support of German language education and other recognized charitable purposes carried out by various German-Canadian organizations.

Ziele und Bestrebungen (Anliegen) des Deutsch-Kanadischen Kongresses:
A.) Die deutsche Sprache zu pflegen und zu fördern und im Rahmen des kanadischen Multikulturismus die deutsche Kultur und deutschen Bräuche aufrechtzuerhalten. Der Begriff deutsch-kanadisch, wie er in unserer Satzung festgelegt ist, trifft auf die Einwanderer zu, deren Abstammung in dem Teil Europas liegt, wo die Umgangssprache Deutsch ist.B.) Den Zusammenhalt zwischen den Deutsch-Kanadiern zu pflegen und ein besseres Verständnis für ihr kulturelles Erbe aufrechtzuerhalten.
C.) An alle Kanadier Informationen weiterzugeben, die einen positiven Beitrag zum Zusammenleben der Deutsch-Kanadier und der kanadischen Gesellschaft leisten.
D.) Die Teilnahme der Deutsch-Kanadier am öffentlichen und bürgerlichen Leben zu fördern und zu unterstützen.
E.) Informationen und Neuigkeiten zum Vorteil der deutsch-kanadischen Gemeinschaft zu
verbreiten.
F.) Einen Fond für wohltätige Zwecke einzurichten zur Unterstützung der Ziele zum
Multikulturismus und die Förderung des Deutsch-Unterrichts, sowie die Förderung weiterer
anerkannter, wohltätiger Vorhaben der verschiedenen deutsch-kanadischen Organisationen.
